You'll want to find the works that you have already read or ones that interest you.
There are many ways to find works at StoryCasting.com. If you know the name of the work
that you are looking for, you can type the name at the top of the page in the "find a work"
search box. If you would like to browse through works by author or title you can click the "browse everything"
link at the top of the page. Clicking on the cover image of any work will take you to that work's homepage.
Tip: The StoryCasting.com home page shows the most popular works and casts as well as a featured work.
this is a good place to start looking at what people are casting and saying about popular works.
|
|
Now that you have found a work that you wish to cast, find the "cast it now" link on the work's homepage.
In order to cast the work you will follow three easy steps:
- Select (or add) a role.
- Find the actor/actress for the role and select them.
- click the "Cast!" button.
Once you have done this for all the roles you wish to cast at this time, click the "save my cast" button.
Tip: You can always come back to the work and add more roles or change your cast. You will also see a link
on the work's home page to go to a page specifically for your cast. You can send out a link to this page to your
friends so they can see how YOU cast it.

Any time that you feel you have something interesting or help to say about a book you can post a comment.
At the bottom of each work's home page you will find an area to post a comment (if you are logged in). You may
also choose to reply to a specific comment by click the "reply" link at the top of that comment. If you want to
comment on a caster's cast you can click the "my cast" link below their avatar to go to their cast's home page. From there
you will be able to cast just on that caster's cast.
Tip: You can also "rate" other caster's comments as either "good" or "bad". Each comment has its own rating and
when casters mark a comment as good or bad the rating will rise and fall.
Comments with a high positive rating will be more pronounced and comments with a negative rating will be harder to read.
|
Tip: Your rating! You have a personal rating next to your screen name. This rating represents your contribution to the
StoryCasting.com community. Each time that you cast a work, post a comment, your comments get rated, you report a bug, etc you receive
rating points. The higher your rating the more respected you are in the community. With higher ratings you will gain honorary titles and
access to special areas of the site.
Tip: Bookmarks! If you find a work that you would like to cast but don't want to cast right now,
you can click the "bookmark" link below the work to add a reminder to come and cast the work at a later time.
Your bookmarks appear on your profile pane on the right side of the page.
Tip: Browse Authors! Do you have a favorite author? You can see all the works that author has contributed but going
to that author's home page. Just use the option to browse by author name or click the author's name on any of their works.
Tip: You can cast as few as 1 role or as many as 15 on any given work. However, The work page will not begin to show the most popular
casting choices until there are at least 3 roles cast. Remember you can always come back to your previous casts and update them with new roles or
different casting choices.
