about me:
I am a novelist and recovering screenwriter. My first novel, the rollicking, witty Southern love story, THE SCANDALOUS SUMMER OF SISSY LEBLANC, was a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers Pick, a Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club featured selection. It became a national best-seller and is in its 24st printing. It engendered THE SOUTHERN BELLE'S HANDBOOK, SISSY LEBLANC'S RULES TO LIVE BY. My next novel, THE BAD BEHAVIOR OF BELLE CANTRELL, about intolerance and love set in 1920 was the main book selection for all the chapters of the Pulpwood Queens, the largest book club in America. During my screenwriting days, I wrote screenplays, pilots, and MOWS. My produced episodes include those for The Highlander, The Equalizer, Crime Story, Chips, Family, Knots Landing, Dynasty, The Walton’s, and Love Boat, but I'm best remembered for writing that cultural icon the “Who Shot J.R.?” episode of Dallas.
